Perimeter insulation

The external thermal insulation of building surfaces in contact with the ground is called perimeter insulation. This type of external insulation provides an effective protection against loss of heat for cellar rooms that are occupied and heated. Firstly, the cellar walls are sealed against moisture penetration, e.g. with a bitumen thick coating. Then, the water and pressure resistant insulating boards are glued to the cellar wall. As well, the insulating boards protect the sealing layer from damages during the filling process.
