Vacuum concrete

Vacuum concrete has an extremely dense surface layer with all respective advantages, e.g. very high compressive strength (early-age strength and final compressive strength), high resistance against weathering, long life, low shrinkage, nearly no risk of cracking, high resistance against penetrating humidity, favourable production costs. After conventional placement, a part of the mixing water is removed out of the concrete. For doing so, a vacuum mat (filter mat plus airproof suction mat) is laid on the concrete and a determined amount of water is sucked off by a vacuum pump. Depending on the duration and the concrete recipe the depth effect is about 10 – 20 cm.
